Mind.

Mind is a mental health charity ran by a group of people trying to make society happier by supporting and encouraging positive changes in peoples lives. Mind was founded in 1946 and celebrated its 70th anniversary in 2016, with their president, Stephan Fry. Mind offer many services to people in need of help, things such as housing, crisis helplines, drop-in centres, employment and training schemes, counselling and befriending for children and adults of all ages. As well as a legal line that simply provides information about mental health while raising awareness, as well as a website and social medias to push forward more help and allow you to get in touch and be a part of their process in bettering mental health. Mind have done fundraises over time, sporting events being put in place in order to raise money needed to progress their charity allowing them to help more people at a faster and more efficient rate. They even took part in raising money over the past couple of years to go towards those suffering due to covid. Focusing on past actions that Mind have committed to, it shows that as a charity all they want to do is help people and noting can get in the way of that, it shows that benefiting other peoples lives is what they enjoy doing. Because Mind is a charity, this means that our project will most likely have a limited budget, hopefully this will not be a problem going forward.

According to the brief we were given at the start of the project, our target audience is our own community , our aim being to prompt them into smiling in order to reduce stress as well as improve mental health. After taking the time to research into stress and mental health and how that links to gender and age i found that our target should be mainly focused on women of the ages 16-30 (on average). Looking at things such as social grade i concluded, that our target audience will most likely fit into the social grade categories, E, D and C2 (again, on average). I decided this because most people on the younger scale ages 16-30 will still be taking part in education or seeking further education (college, university, apprenticeships), people on the older end of the scale will most likely be working part-time or full-time jobs.
